Staring at The Sun by Stuzal Staring at The Sun by Stuzal
I get so tired of taking shots around where I live. So it's nice to get out of town and just drive for awhile. The problem with living in the Canadian prairies is that you have to drive for quite a long time before you get anywhere. By the way this is still nowhere.

lovely tone very appropriate for this image and the flare give to the image the sense of being there and fell the warm sunlights on the skin. great! :sun:

Very nice image :) Living in the American midwest tends to have similar problems unless you're close to a city... all the states look like one big continuous cornfield with occasional trees to break up the monotony! lol ...still, the beauty that can be found in the simplest of scenes is amazing when you can capture it

I have been all through the mid west and I know exactly what you mean. Come July we are all corn as well. The Inca would be proud.

And yes, to tone down the sun enough to make it viewable it just had to be an HDR. I've never liked the head on sun look, it hurts my eyes (As would the real sun).

This is so beautiful! The colors and so warm and I love the way the sun looks! Is this HDR? The detail of the grass and the whole scene is so pretty!

This is still beautiful. I would love to see a version without the lens flare which I believe would give it a painting like quality.

I like to think the flare is what keeps it grounded in reality.
